I have known Wayne since the 70's. Back then I would listen to his music as long as he would play. Today its still the same. I will listen as long as he will play. He is and has always been my favorite male vocalist. If you haven't heard him yet, you should check him out, either by live performance or by CD.
SBC, being a Retired Navy Man also (21yrs), and hearing Wayne Taylor sing several times over the last 7-8 years I have to agree that he is a favorite male vocalist of mine also. I just heard him sing on Friday night at Rams Head in Annapolis with the Good Deale Bluegrass Band and the Eastman String Band. And he was fantastic! I just hope I can make it to see him at his local area gigs
PR, Glad to hear your comments! I hope Wayne makes it to North Carolina to play often in the coming year. I can't wait to hear Wayne Taylor and Appaloosa! SBC
After hearing Wayne for the first time several years ago I consider him the best all around male vocalist. Some have more range, but his voice is so pure and strong. Just a pleasure to listen to and his guitar rhythms are near perfect plus he can do a break with the best of them.
I heard Wayne last sunday in Voorthuizen, Netherlands, at the EWOB festival. He has an amazing fine voice, and is surrounded by some very good musicians. His workshop in picking the guitar was also worth visiting. Awesome to see such a living legend of Bluegrass in the flesh.
